He is my youngest student (and my math geek) but he has built the biggest house so far. Not satisfied with just the size, he applied some scripts in the objects around his house. Look! He's flying while building the wall. Sher cool!

Who says you cannot be emotional teaching in SL? I had a class about different art movements and artists in a French chateau in one of NC WeBIEE's sims. I love this place so much and visited often but the developer of the island, my dear friend Aedann, said that this place was going to be demolished and replaced by a new building. :( I had fun teaching that night but I felt very sad. That would be my last chance to see the place. I would never be able to come and enjoy the paintings there anymore. The next morning, some of my students IMed me "Ms.Ines, the building is gone", "Are we lost? I cannot see the building we visited last night." Strange enough, I felt a great loss in my heart. (Aedann, thank you for giving my class a chance to enjoy the building for the last time. You waited for us patiently, I could never thank you enough)

My students were learning about hydrothermal vent as a source of energy in a deep sea where organisms have no access to sunlight. There was no better place in SL to show this energy transfer in deep sea environment than the Abyss Observatory. During our visit there, we also learned about the difference between white smokers and black smokers. (The ocean animals piggy back ride was an awesome BONUS ) Thank you Yan!

If you want to learn about tsunami, you shouldn't miss the tsunami demonstration in Meteora island of NOAA.  You will get a first hand experience about tsunami but won't get wet or die because of it. Don't forget to dive deep under the ocean to learn about the tsunameter. It's right under the visible buoy.

This time, my students and I were learning to build a spinning stool in Nanoland sandbox. (We love this sandbox so much because it's open to public, it has no time limit, and it's in educational sim-just a few meters from the Nanoland museum) They learned to make an accurate allignment and copy of an object. They also learned to use the rotation script. My friend Diraitout, a teacher from Belgium, observed our class for our future collaboration.
