This is SL luxury. My student can access me 24/7 for homework help...hm...did I mention that we can do it while relaxing by the pool side? lol

Here's how my student explore the Abyss Observatory and 'hunt' for animal species. The mission is to find as many animal species as possible and classify them into phylum arthropoda, annelida, cnidaria, molusca, echinodermata and chordata based on their characteristics. It was a 100% success. (Yan, thank you so much for the torpedo ride. My students were crazy about the torpedo ride)

Ever wonder how I grade my students' work inword? First my students get their assignment in pdf form from the 'aufgabe geber' in my virtual office. Then they write their work on a notecard and drop it in 'aufgabe nehmen' pot. I unload their works from the content tab of the pot and drag them to my inventory. Done! Now I can open and check each of their work in SL.

It is unimaginable before, being with my students afterschool hour with just a single click. Time is a scarce resource in our school and I have been struggling to keep up with the rigorous science curriculum in just 175 school days/year. How good it is to be able to 'see' them inworld. The sense of presence in 3D world is not replaceable by any other media in 2D platform.

Our science learning is integrated in the web. Well, we are not using MOODLE yet because my students think that the moodle layout is boring. Instead, they all have their individual website which is connected  to each other and to me. This time my students are doing their assignment using their self made media on prim. I helped them rez the screen on NcWebiee campus sandbox (that they called grassbox) and they did their work inworld. Cool, eh? (Sorry I didn't tell you earlier that we are going to you use the sandbox, Aedann Slade. I Hope you don't mind. Thank you from all of us )

Finally, I could finish the second floor of my virtual office. I have put several scripts to make it functional. This is like the master piece of my 3 months existance in SL. I can't  believe I have used up the 50 prims limit. What am I supposed to do with the first floor?

My oldest students always have 'ready to learn' attitude virtually. With just a very simple instruction, they manage to update their websites from web on prim inworld. The only thing that is difficult to manage from them is their obsession on look.

Well, the picture above looks like a strip of an action hero comic but in fact it's the picture of my students visiting my virtual office for the first time.  They are learning how to get a homework from a 'aufgabe geber' and how to submit it via 'aufgabe nehmen'.

If you are looking for inspirations, Virtual Tech is just the right place to visit. It is always amazing to see what pixels and scripts can do in virtual world. My students explored the place and couldn't stop asking questions. See....learning is not just about answering questions. Sometimes it is about asking questions.
